The zodiac sign wheel lists the twelve Western star signs in their usual order, starting with Aries and ending with Pisces. Spin it and one sign comes up, each with the same one-in-twelve chance. It is a game, not a reading. The wheel has no idea when you were born, and the result says nothing about your future.

People use it at parties for guessing games, for picking a sign to build a story character around, or for a round of zodiac trivia. It also works as a theme picker, like choosing a sign and planning snacks or a playlist around its symbol or element. If you know your own sign, see how many spins it takes to land on it.

    Signs, dates, and elements

Each sign covers roughly a month and belongs to one of four elements. Use this list for trivia questions after a spin:

    Party games with star signs

Try a guessing round: spin a sign, then everyone guesses which guest has it. Or have each player spin and act like the popular picture of their sign for one minute, such as a bold Leo or a careful Virgo, while others guess. Keep it light, since not everyone takes astrology the same way.

For trivia, spin and ask for the sign's symbol, element, or date range. The list above has the answers.

    Story and character prompts

Writers can spin a sign to set a character's birthday and then use the common traits linked to it as a starting sketch. Spin twice for two characters and see how they would get along. Dates on the cusp vary by a day from year to year, so pick one if your story needs it exact.

    Frequently asked questions

    Does the wheel predict anything?

No. The wheel picks a sign at random for games and fun. It does not use your birth date and gives no reading. To find your actual sign, compare your birthday with the date ranges listed on this page.

Why do some sites list slightly different dates?

The sun moves into each sign at a slightly different time each year, so the boundary dates can shift by a day. Lists round them off, which is why you may see small differences between sources.

Can I add Chinese zodiac animals instead?

Yes. Clear the entry box and type the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, one per line, starting with Rat. Save it as a separate wheel so you can switch between the two.

Can I spin without repeating a sign?

Turn on remove-winner. After each spin the sign is taken off the wheel, so every sign comes up once over twelve spins. This works well for giving each guest a different sign.
